Amici Chamber Choir
Established 1986
COME AND JOIN US!
We are always keen to welcome new members, especially tenors and basses! We are a small friendly choir of about 30 experienced, enthusiastic singers. We give at least 3 concerts a year in the Harrow and London area and our repertoire ranges from the medieval to the present day. We aim to perform to a high standard.
SKILLS
Good sight reading skills are essential and also a good ear for a blend of sound. There are occasional opportunities for members of the choir to sing solos in concerts. We require choir members
to commit to working on the music between rehearsals, and to attending as many rehearsals as possible.
REHEARSALS
We rehearse on Thursdays normally from 7.30pm till 9.30pm in Pinner Methodist Church, Love Lane, Pinner. Rehearsals begin with a warm-up of vocal exercises and a short tea break at half time provides an opportunity to socialise.
There is usually an additional rehearsal on the Sunday evening before a concert with a final rehearsal 2.30 to 4.30pm on concert day in the performance venue.
There may also be a number of more informal performances such as carol singing, summer outdoor concerts and workshops.
COST
The subscription for the year is £212.
Music is often borrowed from libraries on free loan. When this is not possible, members will be asked to pay for the loan of the music or given the option to buy it.
TRY US OUT!
New members are invited to sing with us for a few weeks to try us out and then will have a short informal audition with our musical director.
