Are you thinking of joining us?

We are always looking for enthusiastic singers to join the choir – especially altos, tenors, and basses. Good sight reading skills are essential and also a good ear for a blend of sound. There are often opportunities for members of the choir to sing solos in concerts.

We require choir members to commit to working on the music between rehearsals and to attending as many rehearsals as possible.

New members are invited to sing with us for a few weeks to try us out and then will have a short informal audition with our Musical Director.

Cost of membership

The subscription for the year 2011-2012 is £170 per year (tbc), payable either in full on 1st October or in two equal installments on 1st October and 1st February. Members of 25 and under do not pay a subscription.
New members joining in the Spring term pay half subscription; those joining in the Summer term pay a pro rata subscription.
The choir treasurer has discretionary powers to agree special terms for anyone unable to pay the subscription in the normal way.
Members who are taxpayers are encouraged to sign a Gift Aid declaration form.
The choir subscription covers the cost of insurance, hire of the rehearsal venue and Musical Director's rehearsal fees, with a small surplus to subsidise the cost of concerts, the purchase/hire of scores for organist/pianist, soloists and other players, and fees for the organist/pianist to attend the last few Thursday rehearsals before a concert.
Members pay for music, when not available from libraries on free loan, either by hire fees (when available) or by purchase.
